My Before Paleo Lifestyle Story
Like most of us, my whole adult life I was eating whatever we got used to or were advertised to eat. And it was not that bad for me until I moved to another country for the living.
You see, originally I am from Russia. The eating habits in Russia are much different compared with the one in the USA or Canada saying. Russians are not used to eat a lot of fast food or junk food. Also, most of the population in Russia are relatively active. Why? Because not a lot of people can afford to buy a car, therefore public transportation and walking are pretty much the only transportation sources.
5 years ago I moved to Canada and, guess what, my eating habits changed drastically. I learned that there was a lot of ‘tasty staff’ hidden in the pantry! Within a year I gained 3 kg (approximately 6.6 lbs). And when I noticed that (of course, from the beach pictures), I was thinking, that it is OK, we all gain when we get older. Silly, right?
A couple of years after I was blessed with my daughter and, of course, like many moms I gained extra kilos from my pregnancy. And again, I was afraid to admit that that extra kilos were not just from pregnancy but from the wrong food choices I was making during the pregnancy and right after.
When my baby turned 6 months we went to the beach with the family and that was my wake up call. The pictures made by my husband that summer was horrifying for me. In the beginning, I thought that it might be just not the right angle my hubby picked to take a picture of me. But then I realized, that those muffins on the sides of my thighs were actually mine.
How I Started Paleo Lifestyle Journey
Once I got that wake-up call, I decided that something needed to be changed. But how?
One of the reasons I have never liked diets is that the effect of the diets is usually temporary. I used to be on the diet once and after I finished I gained the same amount of kilos I lost within 6 months! So, this time I needed something that will not only help me to lose unwanted kilos but also will maintain my results.
After research paleo diet brought my attention based on the simplicity of its principles and very well explanations on why certain foods are not beneficial for our bodies anymore. Also, paleo is not just a diet, it is a lifestyle, It means that once you understand the principles and see how your body transforms and your health improves, I bet you will not want to come back to whatever you had before.

Eating clean helped me not only to lose unwanted kilos but also to improve my health generally. My productivity level is as high as I could only dream about.
